Irrigation system installation

Aqualawn designs and installs lawn irrigation systems for residential and commercial properties across the Toledo metro. The design — zone layout, head selection and spacing, controller placement, backflow preventer location, and how the system integrates with bed lines, hardscape, and any planned outdoor lighting — is worked out before crews arrive on the property. Installation covers the mainline, valves, lateral lines, sprinkler heads, the controller, the backflow preventer, and the rain sensor or weather station where the property calls for one.

Seasonal service program

Aqualawn provides a three-visit seasonal service program for installed irrigation systems — Spring Startup, Mid-Season Check, and Winterization. Each visit has a defined scope.

Spring Startup

  • Turn on the water supply to your lawn irrigation system.
  • Inspect the heads, backflow preventer, and mainline for leaks.
  • Program the irrigation controller according to your needs and our recommendations.
  • Check the rain sensor battery on the receiver if applicable. If the battery is low, replace it for an additional cost.
  • Activate each zone and adjust the heads as needed.

Mid-Season Check

  • Inspect your property and identify potential issues.
  • Make the necessary adjustments to ensure proper coverage and water distribution.
  • Verify and adjust the controller's time, date, and programming according to the current weather conditions.
  • Check the functionality of your rain sensor or weather station to prevent overwatering during rain events.
  • Inspect your system for any leaks.

Winterization

  • Turn off the water source to your lawn irrigation system.
  • Hook up the compressor to the lawn irrigation system.
  • Activate each zone to clear water from lines and heads.

Repair, maintenance, and backflow testing

Beyond the seasonal program, Aqualawn handles between-visit repair and maintenance — broken or sunken heads, leaking valves, controller and wiring issues, mainline breaks, and the kind of damage that comes from landscape work or rodent activity. Backflow testing is offered as a standalone service for systems that require annual certification.

Why Aqualawn for Irrigation Systems

A seasonal program built around Northwest Ohio's actual conditions

The Spring Startup / Mid-Season Check / Winterization cadence isn't generic — it's calibrated to the freeze cycle that defines NW Ohio irrigation work. Winterization specifically matters here: a system left full going into a Toledo-metro winter is a system with cracked heads and split valves by April. The seasonal program is structured around that reality.

Irrigation planned with the landscape, hardscape, and lighting it lives in

Aqualawn covers irrigation, landscaping, hardscapes, retaining walls, outdoor lighting, lawn care, and snow removal under one roof. When a project involves a new bed, a new patio, or a new lighting plan, irrigation zones are designed and trenched alongside that work rather than retrofitted through finished beds and pavers.

Two decades of irrigation work across the Toledo metro

Family-owned, Monclova-based, serving the same metro since 2002. Properties in Perrysburg, Sylvania, Maumee, and the surrounding area have been on Aqualawn's irrigation install and seasonal-service roster across more than 20 growing seasons.

Irrigation Systems FAQ

What's included in Aqualawn's seasonal irrigation service program?

Three visits per year: Spring Startup (turn the system on, inspect heads/backflow/mainline for leaks, program the controller, check rain sensor battery, activate and adjust each zone), Mid-Season Check (property inspection, coverage and distribution adjustments, controller reprogramming for current weather, rain sensor verification, leak inspection), and Winterization (shut off the water source, hook up the compressor, blow water out of every zone). Each visit has a defined scope that's spelled out on this page.

What is the seasonal prepay discount?
