About Aqualawn — Family-Owned Outdoor Property Services in Northwest Ohio Since 2002
Family-owned outdoor property services in Toledo and Northwest Ohio. Founded in 2002 as a Monclova-based irrigation specialist; now serving residential and commercial properties across the region.
Aqualawn started as an irrigation specialist in 2002 and grew over more than two decades into the full outdoor property services company it is today. Founded by Scott Denker and still family-owned, Aqualawn operates from a single Monclova base and serves the same Toledo-metro region year after year.
Our History
Aqualawn was founded by Scott Denker in 2002 as a lawn irrigation specialist serving the Toledo metro. The business grew over two decades into a full outdoor property services company — adding landscape, hardscape, retaining walls, outdoor lighting, lawn care, and commercial snow removal to the original irrigation work. The company remains family-owned and operates from the same Monclova base it started from.
What We Do
Eight service lines, all handled in-house:
- Landscaping — design, plant installation, grading, hydroseeding, mulching
- Hardscapes — patios, walkways, water features
- Retaining Walls — Redi-Rock segmental walls for slope, grade-change, and drainage
- Outdoor Lighting — low-voltage landscape lighting installation and repair
- Irrigation Systems — installation plus the seasonal Spring Startup / Mid-Season Check / Winterization program
- Lawn Care — mowing, trimming, weeding, seasonal cleanups
- Snow Removal — commercial properties only
- Topsoil & Compost — bulk material supplied by Springfield Compost, Aqualawn's sister brand

How We Work
Aqualawn handles landscape, hardscape, lighting, irrigation, and lawn care work in-house. When a property project includes a new patio, accent lighting on the wall, an irrigation zone for the new bed, and replacement plantings around the perimeter, those pieces are built by the same company on a single schedule rather than handed between contractors. The same point of contact carries from the landscape plan through the install and into the ongoing seasonal service.

Aqualawn serves residential and commercial properties throughout:
- Northwest Ohio: Lucas, Wood, Fulton, Henry, and Ottawa counties — including Toledo, Perrysburg, Sylvania, Maumee, Monclova, Holland, Whitehouse, and the surrounding Toledo metro.
- Southeast Michigan: Monroe and Lenawee counties.

Landscape, hardscape, retaining walls, outdoor lighting, irrigation, lawn care, and snow removal are all handled by Aqualawn directly. Projects that touch more than one of those service lines — which most projects do — are coordinated by the same crew on a single schedule.

Aqualawn has operated from Monclova since the year it was founded. Same family, same base, same metro — not a national franchise, not a brand-of-the-month, not a company that drives in from another county when the work comes up.
Two decades of Northwest Ohio conditions
Plant choices, irrigation winterization, retaining wall drainage, snow operations, and seasonal service cadences are all calibrated to the specific conditions Northwest Ohio actually has — heavy clay soils, freeze-thaw cycles, lake-effect winters off Erie, and the wet spring / dry late-summer pattern that determines what works on a property in year ten, not just year one.
